Residential School Litigation

The Residential School Settlement Agreement received final Cabinet approval on May 10, 2006.

Before the Settlement Agreement is final, the Agreement requires Court approval in at least 9 of the provinces and territories. The Courts in 10 provinces and territories have scheduled dates for a hearing.

The Minister of Indian Affairs, the Honourable Jim Prentice, responded to Donovan & Company's February 14, 2006 letter outlining the fundamental flaws with the proposed Settlement Agreement.
